05/01/21 Tap is 5 years old. Started to leak. I lodged a warranty enquiry and everything went very smoothly. I was kept up to date on progress and the plumbing company was attentive, organised, polite and on time.
The only issue I am a bit confused about is that the water pressure had to be measured (to be less than 500kPa - it was 350kPa). This process involved turning off the water main and dismantling the isolation valve (tap) under the sink to be able to attach the pressure gauge. This means that a 10 minute job (time taken to replace the part in the leaking tap) became a 1 hour 45 minute job (for the 2 people who came to do the work). Not only was this inconvenient for me (in time and also flooding the cupboard and floor around it and requiring quite a lot of cleanup), but the labour component must have ultimately cost several times more than the actual part. Given the tap is 5 years old and this is the first and only warranty issue I have ever had (for the several Methven taps I have in the house), I am bewildered at the logic of spending so much time and money to take this measurement?
Perhaps a far more logical approach to the requirement for this measurement would be more efficient - such as a tap failure within the first 6 months; several tap failures; recurring tap failures; etc? Peter, BIRCHGROVE, 2041

05/08/20 We had some initial trouble with getting the right parts dispatched, once they were, methven and plumbingbro's were very professional. I had the issue fixed last week but it has left our black shower mixer scratched. The plumber said that the way it was designed the only way to get the part unscrewed to replace the cartridge was to use multi-grips which put some deep scratches on our black mixer tap. It looks like the product was not designed to be serviced? We spent a lot of money on Methven fixing throughout our home and this one is in our main ensuite, this has left us disappointed. 16/04/20 Our experience with Methven was a mixed bag! It started on February 4th 2020, our kitchen tap wasn’t functioning well, occasionally getting an unexpected shower when turning on the tap. So true did all the that was required and awaited the part via courier. When that arrived,!we rang plumbing Brothers and were told he date and time for repair. He broke the tap while trying to repair. So he organised another tap. Eventually that arrived, it was a bathroom tap! Well that took us well into March! So many phone calls and emails later, we were lucky to work with Antoinette who traced the tap. It was posted on the 6h April and the Tuesday after Easter we have an operational kitchen tap! During these difficult trading times I understand misadventures bu am very grateful for a young man in PERTH who answered the phone from a Methven and from Antoinette who pushed me he courier company. 20/05/19 Although my warranty experience ultimated resulted in my taking back the unsatisfactory bidet trigger and hose product to Bunnings for a refund, overall I found the warranty service from Methven to be most impressive. I commend your company for this. Spare parts were dispatched promptly and the warranty claim very efficiently managed. The plumber who came to fix the issue was excellent. The one issue however your company needs to urgently address with this product is the fact that under water pressure the trigger simply does not work. Its becomes so stiff it is unusable. Clearly there is a design fault. Other customers have expressed the same concern. For a $99 product, this obvious fault requires urgent attention uf you don't want your reputation tarnished. Other customers, unlike me, would just bad-mouth your company. Even the spare trigger sent did not work, with the plumber having to spend a lot of time trying to get flow through the device.
